Lately I have felt like we are pressed upon on every side. All the turmoil in our nation and in our world…..financial crises, politics, "wars and rumors of wars"…..with those who want to control our food, our supplements, our seeds, our healthcare , our children’s education (or even if we can raise our children!)–basically socializing everything from birth to death–it’s easy to be enraged, afraid, and sometimes frustrated and helpless.
I often tell my children that times might seem rough, or even scarey, but we know WHO is in control! And we can trust Him!
So today, Psalm 27 really spoke to me, and I’d like to share it with you, dear friend. The little heading in my Bible for this psalm actually says, "Trust in the Lord and be not afraid" Quite relevent!
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in His temple.
5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock. (THE ROCK, Jesus!)
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in His tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When thou saidst, Seek ye My face; my heart said unto Thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.
9 Hide not Thy face far from me; put not Thy servant away in anger: Thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.
11 Teach me Thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

What better song than "Standing on the Promises"?
Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring;
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.
Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.
Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
Standing on the promises of God.
Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.
Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior, as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.
Standing, standing, standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing, I’m standing on the promises of God.

Yes, take courage, dear heart! Wait on HIM and Him ALONE. Let Him be your "all in all" that will keep you though the "storms of life" and "doubt and fear assail". He has proven His faithfulness to deliver His loved ones either from the trial or through it. Either way, we need not fear, for His "rod and staff, they comfort me".
Finally, a promise from Hebrews 13:5:
"Let your conversation (behavior) be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
A friend once pointed out that the last part of that verse means the same read forwards and backwards:
"Thee leave, nor thee forsake, never will I"!
Amen!
to be my special field of duty."

This blog was a real blessing to me today. I'm hardly ever down in the dumps but today was one of those days, and the Holy Spirit led me here. I was really encouraged and wanted to say thanks so much, and God bless you!!!
